Aluminum is a silvery white light metal. It's malleable. Commodities are often made in column, bar, sheet, foil, powder, ribbon and filament. An oxide film can be formed in moist air to prevent metal corrosion. Aluminium powder treated with acid is heated in the air and burns violently, giving off a blinding white flame. Soluble in dilute sulfuric acid, dilute nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide solutions, insoluble in water, but can react with hot water slowly to form aluminum hydroxide, relative density 2.70, elastic modulus 70GPa, Poisson's ratio 0.33. Melting point is 660 ℃. The boiling point of 2327 ℃. It is widely used for its light weight, good electrical and thermal conductivity, high reflectance and oxidation resistance. The aluminum used in daily dishes is usually called "fine steel" or "kind of steel".
