Xingtai aidu metal material sales co., LTD will analyze the production process of aluminum ingots for you. The specific analysis is as follows:
The production of aluminum ingots is composed of bauxite mining, alumina production, aluminum electrolysis and other production links.
Firstly, bauxite is mined, aluminum ore powder is produced by washing and grinding, and alumina is obtained by roasting and other four complicated processes. Bauxite for alumina production mainly includes three types: trihydrate, monohydrite and monohydrite.
Among the proven global reserves of bauxite, 92% are weathered laterite type bauxite, belonging to the trihydrate type. These bauxite are characterized by low silicon, high iron and high aluminum-silicon ratio, which are concentrated in west Africa, Oceania and central and South America. The remaining 8% is sedimentary bauxite, which belongs to monohydrate soft bauxite and monohydrate hard bauxite, with medium and low grade, mainly distributed in Greece, former Yugoslavia and Hungary.
Because of the different characteristics of three kinds of bauxite, different alumina production enterprises adopt different production processes, mainly including bayer process, alkali lime sintering process and bayer-sintering combination process. Usually, high - grade bauxite is produced by bayer method, and low - grade bauxite is produced by combination or sintering method. Due to its simple process and low energy consumption, bayer process has become one of the main methods used in alumina production, accounting for about 95% of the global alumina production.
